Holcim, a supplier of aggregates, concrete and concrete pipe and products, is proposing to extend its operating hours by an additional 2 hrs/ day. This will increase its output from 150 to 300 trucks per day.
Talis was commissioned by Holcim to undertake traffic modelling to determine the impact this additional traffic would have on the surrounding road network. Talis used SIDRA 9 to assess the affected intersections and worked with Holcim to determine how it could distribute its traffic throughout the day to reduce the impact on the surrounding road network.
