“I have been with Talis since the start and I like working for them because of the interesting variety of project work, the strong culture and the excellent people.”
Alex Upitis
Talis is a fast-growing consultancy specialising in Assets, Engineering, Environment, Noise, Spatial and Waste Management. We are a Perth based company with offices in Newcastle and Nowra and other operating bases in Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart.
Our diverse and multidisciplinary teams are experts in their field and have extensive experience working with public and private sector clients across Australia, to provide efficient, effective and economic solutions.
Our values and culture underpin the way we do business at Talis. It serves as the foundation for decision-making, determining the behaviour and actions of employees, and influencing the overall organisational strategy and approach to doing business.
WE HAVE A GREAT WORK CULTURE
Our values and culture are all about how we do things at Talis, what is important to us not only as a company but also as individuals who are part of a larger community. We are positive, supportive and inclusive. It is a culture where employees feel valued, respected and are able to be themselves. We strive to create an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion, equality, sustainability, safety, growth, open communication and work-life balance. By investing in our people, we create a safe environment for staff to excel and in turn, deliver quality services to our clients.
THE GROWTH OF THE COMPANY AND OUR STAFF IS IMPORTANT TO US
The projects we undertake at Talis are varied and make an impact on the communities in which we operate. We are expanding our operations and growing and we want our staff to grow with us. We use a blended approach to staff development, this includes working on diverse projects and learning on the job, webinars, conferences, in-person workshops and seminars, training, mentoring as well as job shadowing.
We also help staff understand their strengths, interests and career aspirations, in order to align them with the organisation’s goals and to support them in progressing along their career path.
AT TALIS DIVERSITY & INCLUSION IS MORE THAN A BUZZ WORD
At Talis diversity and inclusion is more than just a buzz word, it does not matter how you identify or what your cultural background is, what does matter is that you are respectful, have a good attitude and are willing to contribute to a team environment. We make a conscious effort to remove unconscious bias, systematic discrimination and microaggressions that may prevent an individual or underrepresented group to thrive within the organisation. We want our initiatives to engender a feeling of safety and belonging amidst our staff and make Talis a more enjoyable place to work.
WE WANT YOU TO ENJOY WORKING WITH US
When you spend 8 hours a day at a place, it better be somewhere you want to be and with people whose company you enjoy. Why is this important to us? Because we care about the well-being of our staff. Happy staff are more productive and are more committed to the team and the organisation as a whole. They are less likely to view work as a chore and experience burnout. So, the bottom line is, we genuinely want you to be happy when you work for us and we do all we can to ensure our staff want to be here.

“As Support Services Lead, my primary role is to implement appropriate systems and processes to ensure the effective, efficient, and successful ongoing operation of Talis as a whole. The success of my role relies on the Leadership Team committing to a high level of governance, transparency, ethics, compliance, accountability, and mutual respect. These are the qualities I saw in Talis when I joined 10+ years ago, and which make me proud to be a part of this team.”

“Aside from the outstanding workplace culture and constant leadership support, the diversity of projects, particularly within the Waste field, is one of the reasons I love working at Talis. Whilst the jobs may not be perceived as glamorous, they are highly rewarding and provide an insight into the entire Waste Management system.”

“A good working environment is fundamentally what I enjoy about Talis. We’re trying to maintain a ‘small business’ ethos within a growing company. For me, this means a diverse and collaborative workplace which facilitates ongoing development and learning.
