Resource Recovery Facility

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project management for the establishment of a Resource Recovery Facility for Mindarie Regional Council in Perth Western Australia, which was established through a public private partnership. This recovery facility used cutting edge aerobic composting technology and equipment. The facility converts municipal waste to compost and includes specialised equipment such as bioreactors and granulators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Members of the Talis Project Team lead by John, participated in the development of a Resource Recovery Facility for the MRC under a Public Private Partnership contract. Talis was responsible for the preparation of an EOI and subsequent request for tender documentation and evaluation of submissions. This was followed by the development of an RFT for resource recovery solutions. The Resource Recovery Facility successfully commenced operations in 2009 with up to 100,000 tonnes of waste being processed per year.

OUTCOME

The project was successfully completed with a design, build, own operate and maintain the agreement, within budget and timeframe and has been in operation since 2009. To date, the processing facility and the contract have diverted over 600,000 tonnes of waste from landfill.
