Queensland’s $130M Resource Recovery Boost Fund is Here

On Monday, 13 October 2025, the Queensland Government will formally open Round 1 of its $130 million Resource Recovery Boost Fund, a probe to reverse declining recycling rates and strengthen waste-recovery capabilities statewide.

The Resource Recovery Boost is designed to support councils, groups of councils, or industry-council partnerships to:
• Address waste reduction and recycling priorities
• Establish critical resource recovery infrastructure
• Divert waste from household red bins

📌FUNDING STREAMS
Stream 1 – Local/Regional Projects
• Up to $2 million (excl. GST) per project
• Delivered within 18 months of contract execution
• Total allocation: $20 million
• Applications close: 3pm Thursday, 11 December 2025

Stream 2 – Regional/State-wide Projects
• Over $2 million (excl. GST) per project
• Delivered within 3 years of contract execution
• Total allocation: $40 million
• Applications close: 3pm Thursday, 29 January 2026
