Central Queensland University EMP

| 2 min read

An Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is a crucial blueprint for organisations and projects, outlining strategies to minimise environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices.

Talis’ expertise in EMPs helps clients meet approval standards and minimise impacts on both ecological and human communities across mining, construction, manufacturing, waste management, energy, education, tourism, and other sectors.

Our team has years of hands-on experience across Australia, specialising in developing EMPs for clients nationwide. Recently, Talis was engaged by Central Queensland University (CQUniversity) to develop two comprehensive EMPs for their Bundaberg and Rockhampton North campuses. The project was led by our consultants Alfred Davis and Christelle Swanepoel.

The goal was to integrate sustainability seamlessly into key operations and infrastructure such as teaching facilities, administration and staff areas, sports and recreation, residential precincts, parking, roads, and footpaths.

Key highlights include:

✅ Identifying and controlling environmental aspects to manage and mitigate potential environmental impacts associated with operations conducted on both campuses
✅ Alignment with CQU’s Sustainability Framework and Policy
✅Compliance with relevant State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and regulations
✅ Developing an action plan to guide CQU on the initial implementation of the EMPs with a priority rating for each action.

We are proud to support CQU in their sustainability journey. Find more details about the project here, along with other projects we have completed:
