Waste Management Services Review, Facility Consolidation and Collection Contract | Talis Waste Management

Following the amalgamation of the former Councils of Murray and Wakool, Talis was engaged by the newly formed Murray River Council to undertake a complete waste services review and identify opportunities to consolidate the number of waste management facilities across the Council’s region.

The Murray River Council has ten formal waste management facilities that range from large landfills down to small unmanned, unfenced waste transfer stations. Following visits to each site, Talis determined the most efficient network of waste management facilities for the Murray River Council, based on providing a suitable level of service to the residents whilst being cost-effective and limiting the environmental-risk.

As a result of the review process, Talis prepared a thorough Waste Management Strategy to assist Murray River Council in consolidating and improving its waste management services, along with a new waste collection and operations contract.
